Shipping & Returns

Below are some common questions about shipping, returns, and exchanges

1. Do you offer international shipping?

No, we currently ship only within India. International shipping is not available at this time.

2. How long will it take to receive my order?

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days (excluding weekends and holidays).
Once shipped, standard delivery takes 3–7 business days, depending on your location.

3. How much does shipping cost?
  • Free Standard Shipping for orders above ₹1499
  • ₹70 shipping charge for orders below ₹1499
4. What is your return policy?

We have a No Return Policy.
Returns are only accepted if:

  • You received the wrong product
  • Your order was lost in transit
  • You received a defective or damaged product
5. Am I eligible for a refund?


Refunds are issued only for the eligible cases.
Refunds are not available for:

  • Change of mind or personal preference
  • Opened or used products
  • Minor packaging damages that do not affect product usability

6. How do I request a refund or exchange?

Email support@thesubstitute.in with:

Your order number

  • Description of the issue
  • Photos/videos as proof (if applicable)

Our support team will review your request and respond within 2 business days.

7. Can I track my order?

Yes! Once your order is shipped, you’ll receive a tracking number via email/SMS.
You can track it on our website or through the courier partner’s tracking page.

8. Can I cancel my order?

Orders can be cancelled before they are processed. Once shipped, cancellations are not
possible.

9. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments through Razorpay, including:

  • Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)
  • Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, RuPay)
  • Net Banking (all major banks)
  • UPI
  • Wallets (Paytm, PhonePe, etc.)

10. Are your perfumes original?

Our perfumes are inspired fragrances, crafted to match the scent profile of popular luxury perfumes while maintaining premium quality. We do not claim to sell original designer brands.

11. How long do your perfumes last?

Our perfumes typically last up to 10 hours close to skin, depending on skin type, weather, and activity level.

12. Are your perfumes safe for sensitive skin?

Our perfumes are crafted with premium ingredients and are free from harmful chemicals. However, if you have sensitive skin or allergies, we recommend doing a patch test before full use.

13. How should I store my perfume?

To maintain quality, store your perfume in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Avoid keeping it in humid areas like bathrooms.

14. What is The Substitute Rewards & Loyalty Program?​

It’s a points-based rewards program that lets you earn points for shopping, referrals, reviews,
profile completion, and social actions. Points can be redeemed for discounts on future orders.

15. How do I join the Rewards Program?​

Create an account on www.thesubstitute.in.

Once you sign up, you automatically receive 1000 points.

16. How can I earn points?

You can earn points in the following ways (each action is credited only once unless stated):

●​ Create an account: 1000 points
●​ Follow on Instagram: 100 points
●​ Follow on Facebook: 100 points
●​ Subscribe on YouTube: 100 points
●​ Make a purchase: 1 point per ₹10 spent
●​ Referral (friend’s first fulfilled order): 500 points
●​ Write a verified review via Judge.me: 1000 points

Social actions must be completed through the rewards widget and are awarded only once per
account.

17. How do referrals work?​

Share your unique referral link.​
When your friend places their first order and it is fulfilled, you receive 500 points.

Important:

●​ Referral points are issued only after successful fulfillment
●​ Cancelled or refunded orders do not qualify
●​ Self-referrals, multiple accounts, or misuse will result in point removal

18. How do I redeem my points?​

Points can be redeemed directly at checkout by clicking “Redeem Points.”​
Conversion rate: 100 points = ₹10 discount

19. Is there a limit on point redemption and usage?​

Yes. You can redeem a maximum of:​
2000 points = ₹200 per order
Additional rules:
●​ Points cannot be transferred, gifted, or combined across accounts
●​ Points cannot be restored once expired
●​ Points can be redeemed on most products unless restricted during special promotions or
limited-edition launches
●​ Points cannot be combined with certain coupon codes unless explicitly allowed
​ Points can be used along with the automatic 20% discount on eligible orders

20. When are points credited to my account?

●​ Purchase points (including COD orders) are added only after successful
fulfillment/delivery

●​ Cancelled or refunded orders do not earn points
Verified review points are awarded only when:
●​ You have placed an order with The Substitute
●​ The purchase is verified
●​ The review is submitted after order fulfillment for that purchased product through
Judge.me
●​ The review is approved (no spam, fake, or irrelevant content)
Unverified or fake reviews will not receive points.

21. What happens to points if I cancel or return an order?

●​ Points earned on that order will be removed
●​ If points were redeemed, the discount value will be deducted from the refund amount
This ensures fairness for all customers.

22. Do points expire or get revoked?​

Yes.
●​ Points are valid for 12 months from the date earned, unless stated otherwise for
specific promotions
●​ Expired points cannot be restored
●​ Points may be revoked if:
○​ An order is refunded
○​ A review is invalid
○​ A referral is self-created
○​ Multiple accounts are used
○​ Fraud or manipulation is detected

23. Where can I check my points or get support?​

After logging in, you can view:
